About Struisbaai

Struisbaai is a picturesque fishing village at the most southern tip of Africa.

Just over two hours from Cape Town, on a route that winds through the hills of the Overberg, lies the picturesque fishing village of Struisbaai. The ideal location for either a relaxing weekend getaway far from the hustle and bustle of city life or a longer break over the school holidays. A place surrounded by pristine beaches and nature reserves, and right next Cape Agulhas, Africa's Southernmost Tip.

Choose between swimming, surfing, scuba diving, kayaking, kitesurfing, fishing, hiking, whale spotting, bird watching - it will be a day to remember. Then end your day with a walk on the 14kms of white sandy beaches, an aquamarine blue sea and you - days to dream about later.

Visit the harbour and buy fresh fish from the local fishermen, or if you are feeling adventurous go on a fishing charter and catch your own.

From May to November the Southern Right Whale uses the bay as a nursery during calving season and visitors flock to Struisbaai to witness these magnificent mammals.

This beautiful region serves as an inspiration to artists and photographers - why not let it become yours?
